A little background on James McAvoy. To start though I just want to quickly mention that I first noticed the rising star when I watched The Last King of Scotland. To be honest I had never heard of him before but though his performance so impressive that I would look into his story a little. While not being the type of person that normally goes crazy over celebs, I do find both actors and authors fascinating. The have a particular skill in melding their mind into something so different and if they are good they will either create and entire world with it's cast of characters or become one of those charactors. Onto Mr. McAvoy.
James McAvoy was born in Scotland, in the Glasgow area, on April 21st 1979.. His parents split when he was young so he ended up living with his grandparents. His mother would live with them on and off but James has not seen his father since childhood. James McAvoy went to Catholic school and considered joining the priesthood.
McAvoy had a couple of roles in the films The Near Room (1995) and Regenration (1997) but really got a break when he appeared in the Steven Spielberg produced show Band of Brothers. From that point on the roles just kept getting better and better, going so far as getting top roles in the award winning Atonement and Last King of Scotland. At this point James can be quite selective with his roles, something every young actor dreams of. His current release is the upcoming Wanted which by all accounts will be another stellar film. Not yet 30 years of age and a killer resume we should be seeing a lot more of this fine young actor.
